I had an interesting Tabernacles experience I would like to share with you. As you know, Tabernacles began Thursday, October 30. You also may know that Wednesday night the Philadelphia Phillies won the World Series. I would love to have seen the Rays win, somewhat because they came from last, but also because they put the devil away—up to this year they were the Devil Rays. However, both teams were exceedingly positive prophetically. I just told you of the testimony of the Rays. Well, in 1890 Philadelphia put the Quakers away and became the Phillies. So what is so significant with that? The Quakers were the primary ones who gave us the first prong of the Curse of 1920—the women’s rights movement. Thus, the Rays put the devil away, and the Phillies put the Quakers away. Both good.
But, the most outstanding testimony regarding Philadelphia is that the church of Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7-12 is clearly prophetic of the second Remnant. Smyrna is prophetically the first Remnant. (Read The Signs That Cause Belief, page 4 towards the end, at
I read Revelation 3:7-12. It is most encouraging. I add it here for your benefit.
- 7. “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:
- 8. ‘I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
- 9. ‘Behold, I will cause {those} of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you.
- 10. ‘Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
- 11. ‘I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
- 12. ‘He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.’ ”
- The thing that has stood out to me most in these verses is verse 12—Philadelphia’s sole identification with “new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God.” The only other place where this is referred to is in Revelation 21 where its descension is addressed. There we read that this is the Bride (vss. 2 and 9), “the wife of the Lamb.” This is VERY significant, especially since we are seeing that Jubilee, 2008, is related specifically to rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. As we have noted, new Jerusalem is nothing but walls. There is no temple in it. As I sat in bed reading on that Wednesday night, I was quite aware that I had not had a bride for almost six years—no one to lay beside me. So, I placed my Bible beside me, open to that passage. I took hope with comfort that this was my bride, and affectionately patted those pages before I went to sleep. But that night, my sleep was interrupted twice, even three times. During the night, I was awakened with Satan asking me two questions. I recalled what he had just asked, and formulated them in my mind so that in the morning I would remember them. But as in many matters such as this, the next morning I could not remember the questions at all. Later that night I was awakened a second time. Once again it was Satan, but this time he was very agitated and hollering. I could not perceive what he was saying, but he was very upset—as I was the night of Trumpets and he came into me. I once again went back to sleep. Then I was awakened after it was light. I heard someone trying to open a door, jiggling the doorknob, but could not get in. The sound was coming from the back side of my bedroom, which is on the back of my house. But this puzzled me, for I do not have a door back there. I then went back to sleep. Finally I awoke from my night’s sleep. As I lay there pondering these things, a church bell sounded in the distance, marking the time. I counted the bells—eight bells. Eight is the number of reversing the curse, I noted. And by the way, I am not inclined to have these kind of nighttime experiences. Visions in the night have not come to me in several years. In fact, now that I think about it, I have not had a vision in the night throughout the last fourteen years, representative of the breach.
- So what could all of this mean? First, under the New Millennial Calendar, the days begin and end at sunrise. Therefore, the two times I heard Satan were just before Tabernacles would begin at sunrise. The third awakening was after sunrise, so it would have been at the very beginning of Tabernacles. Thus, it is most significant that Satan was verbally communicating with me in the first two incidences, actually asking me two questions the first time. But in contrast, the third time he was locked out and did not speak a word. All I heard was the rattling of a doorknob. Secondly, it is quite noteworthy that several days before this I saw Satan walking in front of my house and he did not pass by. And in that case I even opened the door to him, not knowing so at the time. But on this first morning of Tabernacles, he was now at the back of my house, locked out. The testimony seems to be that he is now behind me, the very words Yahshua spoke to Satan in Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan.” This testimony is obviously very good and hopeful, especially since it was on the first morning of Tabernacles. Related to this, you will recall the opening statement in this passage to Philadelphia, “He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens.” It could well be that Yahweh was testifying on this morning that Satan has been shut out, that Yahweh has closed a door on him that cannot be opened. Most certainly, he could not open that back door on the morning of Tabernacles. He could not even holler out. Let me comment on another statement in this passage. In verse 8 we read, “Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” First, in the mid 80s a woman prophesied this to me—a door opening that no one could close. After doing so, she emphasized that that was not a normal thing for her to do. I do hope that indeed Yahweh opens a door that no one can close and we will have the success we all need so much. But the other point here is that of having little power. THAT has certainly been my case since 1994—I have not had the power of the Holy Spirit. As testified in that trip to the man’s ranch where I fished on the other side, I have made this journey thus far without the oil. And certainly on the night of Trumpets, my radiator did indeed boil over—I overheated! Recently a Bride brother sent me an e-mail, pointing out the unique statement in 1 Samuel 9:9. Here we read the parenthetical statement, “(Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he used to say, ‘Come, and let us go to the seer’; for he who is called a prophet now was formerly called a seer.)” Recently a woman asked me if I was a prophet. My answer was no. I do not prophesy, but like this passage differentiates, I see things no other man has seen. I have been a seer. I have walked in weakness and have not had the authority to prophesy. I do hope this changes in the days before us. In closing, maybe the Hubble Space Telescope was giving us a prophetic sign in the heavens at this time. Here is a new image that was just released by NASA.
Mission officials released this image, suggesting that it is a perfect “10.”
- Eight reverses the curse—the number of bells chimed on the morning of Tabernacles—
- nine is the Elijah, and
- the perfect ten is Yahshua’s return. Via NASA, the heavens seem to be prophesying. We will continue to watch and see what Yahweh will do.
Blessings to you,
Gary
